How I got here
My first career was in commercial property. Health, let alone relationships, was not the plan.
What became the London Clinic of Nutrition began as something closer to a passion project, and grew into a practice that has now helped more than 25,000 people in the UK and abroad. For most of that time my work was functional medicine: the complicated, unglamorous business of helping people with conditions that conventional medicine had struggled to shift. Chronic fatigue. Lyme disease. Autoimmune illness. The cases other people had given up on.
That work taught me something I did not expect. The longer I sat with people whose bodies were not healing, the more often I found something underneath the illness that had nothing to do with biochemistry. Old wounds. Patterns of relating learned long ago and never questioned. Marriages quietly failing while the body kept the score.
I trained in Internal Family Systems to work with that layer properly. Then I found the work of Terry Real and his Relational Life Therapy, and it reframed everything. Here was a way of working with couples that was honest, direct and genuinely useful, rather than neutral and endless. The more relational work I did, the more it became the centre of my practice rather than the edge of it.
This site is where that work now lives.

Why this work matters
I believe our relationships and our health are far more closely tied than we are taught to think. The way we relate to the people closest to us shapes how we feel, how we cope, and over time, how well we are.
Most of us were never shown how to do this well. We learn how relationships work by watching the ones we grew up around, usually our parents, and then we repeat what we saw without ever deciding to. If nobody helps you see the pattern, the pattern simply continues.

A personal note

I had to relearn how to relate in my own life, in my forties, and it took real work over a number of years. I know from the inside that the patterns we grow up with can be changed, because I have had to change my own.
It is part of why I do this, and part of why I will not pretend the work is tidy. It rarely is.
What I can tell you is that I take it seriously, I will be honest with you, and I will be on your side while I am honest. That combination is the whole point.
